I am in the unique position of being an old media guy who makes his living in new media. However, I do NOT believe that old media is not an anachronistic idea who’s day is done. Why? Because it’s not about the media –it’s about the content. Good content is good content, whether it’s conveyed on a PDA or in an old fashioned book.
One of the things old media guys like to say is that “the internet has ruined everything”. That’s because marketing used to be so much simpler. You had four or five choices: TV, radio, newspaper, magazine, maybe some direct mail or a promotion now & then. Now you have about 100 million websites, give or take a few hundred thousand.
The internet is about making connections and conversations. That’s why, at its heart, internet marketing is good old fashioned public relations. PR is the essence of Blogio. It’s communicating with, and through, the journalists of our time bloggers.
